Attending a Live Recording of Any Questions? at Oakwood Park

I recently had the pleasure of attending a live recording of BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions? at Oakwood Park, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable and thought-provoking experience.

Oakwood Park provided a fantastic setting for the event, with a lively and engaged audience contributing to the atmosphere that makes Any Questions? such a popular and respected programme. Hearing national issues debated live, with direct questions from members of the public, really highlighted the importance of open discussion and public participation in our democracy.

It was also great to meet Kieran Mullan MP, the Shadow Justice Minister. He was generous with his time and thoughtful in his responses, and it was interesting to hear his perspective on a range of current issues. Events like this offer a valuable opportunity to engage directly with those shaping national policy and to better understand the challenges and decisions faced at Westminster.

What stood out most was the quality of the questions from the audience. The breadth of topics reflected the issues that matter most to people locally and nationally, and the format allowed for honest debate and differing viewpoints to be aired respectfully.

Overall, attending the live recording was a rewarding experience. It reinforced the importance of informed debate, listening to different perspectives, and ensuring that public voices are heard. I left Oakwood Park feeling encouraged by the level of engagement and keen to attend similar events in the future.
